Battle Buddies was started to help the thousands of heroes suffering from PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) get back to being independent and improve their overall quality of life.

It has been shown that 82% of those diagnosed with PTSD have symptom reduction after partnership with a service dog and another 40% reported a significant reduction in use of medications. The dog allows the handler the freedom to interact with the public in a positive light, knowing that he/she has a constant companion.
Everyone deserves a good life, especially those who risked all for us. Midwest Battle Buddies is dedicated to giving veterans in need the opportunity to have just that. With your help, we can improve the quality of life for those we serve.

HOW DOGS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
OUR PROCESS
WHAT MAKES MIDWEST BATTLE BUDDIES SPECIAL?
- Midwest Battle Buddies has served 43 veterans since we began in 2016.
- We work to provide service dogs at almost no cost to the veteran, including the dog, training, and equipment.
- Other assistance dog agencies can be very expensive, and have long wait lists of several years - before the training process even begins.
- Rather than hand a veteran a fully-trained dog, our trainers work with the veterans to train their dog themselves, creating a stronger bond - and the veterans get the benefits of canine companionship right away.
- We work closely with the VA, several veterinary consultants, and IAABC certified trainers for the best possible training and care.
- We use treat-based training, no aggressive training is allowed, and abuse is strictly not tolerated.
