MIDWEST BATTLE BUDDIES

SERVING VETERANS, SERVING OUR COMMUNITY

OUR STORY

HOW MIDWEST BATTLE BUDDIES BEGAN

Hello, I am Chip Neumann. I come from a suburban middle class family, most of who served in the military. I did not serve myself, but in 2015 my partner in a dog training business came to me with the issue of Veterans coming to him with a need for service dog training. We found a lack of community help for the veterans, especially those with PTSD. Midwest Battle Buddies was born.

In 2016 after 36 years of service to a company I had devoted my life to, they decided our division would be shut down. I decided at that point I no longer was going to serve a corporate entity, but would devote myself to something that made a difference. I took a draw from my pension and decided to commit myself 100% to Midwest Battle Buddies.

I live In Rose Hill, Kansas with my wife Robin and our two dogs, Bubba and Nova. I have two grown daughters, Jessica and Jennifer and two grandsons, Tyson and Jaxon.

MIDWEST BATTLE BUDDIES WORKS PRIMARILY WITH HANDS FULL DOG TRAINING

Kathrine Christ founded Hands Full Dog Training in 2015 and has nurtured its growth to be one of the top dog training schools in Wichita. Despite a move to Texas in 2020, Kathrine remains actively involved in both Hands Full and Midwest Battle Buddies.

As a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant through the IAABC and a graduate of the elite Academy for Dog Trainers, she continues to oversee all curricula and behavior programs and serve as a mentor for her Kansas trainers.

Coming from a military family, Kathrine chose to apply for lead trainer for Midwest Battle Buddies as a way to give back to the community she was raised in as well as to make a difference in the lives of dedicated teams she serves.

Hands Full Dog Training, LLC specializes in helping companion dogs and their owners live happily together by resolving both obedience struggles and serious behavior issues. She and her trainers hold several sessions a week for the Midwest Battle Buddies teams, covering topics such as basic and advanced obedience, task training the behaviors each dog will use to help their handler, and learning to successfully navigate the challenges of public access work.

MIDWEST BATTLE BUDDIES ALSO PARTNERS WITH Aggie Guide-Dogs and Service-Dogs (AGS)

Aggie Guide-Dogs and Service-Dogs (AGS) is a student-run organization at Texas A&M University.

Their mission is to educate about, fundraise for, promote the training and use of service dogs, and to increase awareness about how these animals help the individuals with disabilities.

We partner with AGS for first-year training in cases where puppy care and training may be too much for our intended recipient. AGS will complete the first year of training, and when the dog graduates, they come to Wichita to finish training with their veteran and Hands Full Dog Training.
